Another Chance
A downloadable game
Another Chance is an isometric, story driven experience which pits you in the midst of an alien apocalypse. Split apart from your wife, your only objective is reuniting with her...or is it?
The game takes place in an urban Japanese environment. Following Taiki, you'll explore his surroundings and talk with other residents of the city, all the while trying to make your way to his wife, Naomi.
Time will play a crucial role in the unfolding story, and you'll have to carefully prioritize how you interact with the world. Focusing on the main goal might be a sound idea, but exploration could yield satisfactory results as well...
While navigating through the city, the alien invaders will make themselves noticed. Avoid them at all costs, as they will not hesitate pursuing you to your death.
- Beautiful scenery contrasted by the aftermath of an alien invasion.
- Rich story conveyed through Taiki's inner monologues or dialogues with Taiki's fellow residents.
- Time is a resource - every significant interaction with the world will advance the clock, which will shape the story later on.
- Some humour sprinkled in as well. Even amidst an alien invasion, not everything has to be bleak.
- Did we mention time travel? We're not sure...we're not even sure how often we wrote this already...

Hey, tried out the demo, thought it was really cool!
To avoid rambling for too long, I'll just share the thoughts that stood out to me the most ;)
Firstly, I'd like to say that the 3D environment, especially the interior design, is really polished and well made :) Good job!
You guys also did really well when it comes to the movement system. The player character feels a tiny bit slippery, but having him pathfind to wherever you press makes navigating easy and satisfying. It may seem like a no-brainer, but a lot of similar top-down games with the same control-scheme don't have this feature. It's a great addition!
In terms of text, I would strongly recommend you use a standard, readable font. Using wacky fonts for titles, names etc. is fine, but generally, using fonts that deviate too much from the norm makes the text less readable, which can lead to a frustrating player experience. This is especially important when the story and gameplay are heavily text-focused. I would personally use a more standard font for dialogue boxes, descriptions, etc. (But take that as you will)
Anyways, keep up the good work. My biggest take away from the demo is that it feels very inspired. Your enthusiasm for this project really shows :)
Thank you so much for playing the demo and taking your time to post a review! We'll definitely look into accessibility, as this popped up a few times before already!
We are especially thrilled about you mentioning the movement system. It's as you explain it, people take movement for granted ;)
