Courage and honour!

Trial of Resolve is a story-driven, turn-based strategy RPG set in the Warhammer 40.000 universe in which the player takes control of a Space Marine captain of the Ultramarines Chapter. Explore the desert world of Nochorus II, battle the Tyranid menace in turn-based combat and upgrade your character, all the while trying to make your way off the planet.

Outnumbered, but never outgunned

Blast your enemies to pieces in ranged combat, then switch to melee once they get close. Trial of Resolve offers a vast scope of ranged and melee weapons to tailor to your chosen playstyle. Enemies will have to first get close to you in order to attack, in which your ranged weapon will be active. Once they step in too close, you automatically draw your chosen melee weapon to cut or smash them to bits.

Field work makes the dream work

Abandoned workshops can be found scattered across the environment. Use your hard earned scrap to upgrade your gear or create new weapons. You can view and equip any crafted weapons at all times while not in combat, which allows for quick changes of playstyle on the go.

There is only war

Following a distress signal from the Emperor's Scythes, you, captain of the striker cruiser Dagger of Ultramar, and your fellow battle brothers land onto the world of Nochorus II to try and piece together what happened. An ambush splits you apart from your squad mates, and the only remaining thing to do is move forward and through any enemies in your path.

Our very first school project as a team of three developers, Trial of Resolve is an ambitious, albeit only somewhat functional, package which requires extra steps in order to fully run it. If you're interested in giving it a shot, feel free to reach out to us via our email ootbs.outoftheboxstudios@gmail.com, and we'll send you the files and details on how to run it!

If you would like to support us, feel free to check out our most recent title, Another Chance!

Warhammer 40,000 and all other material related to the brand are owned by Games Workshop, its subsidiaries and any other respective owner that may be covered. Our work only takes inspiration from an existing source and does not wish to challenge it.
